You contour and climb along the granite spine toward the Carrozzu bridge and refuge. Allow about 6 hours on exposed terrain with chains and cables on the trickiest sections - not a day for vertigo.

Refuge de Carrozzu sits in a dramatic cirque. Arrive before afternoon storms build; lightning is a real risk on the GR20's high sections.
